WA fireworks company fined $34,000

A Perth fireworks company has been fined $34,000 plus compensation costs totalling more than $3000 after being convicted of a string of offences.

Cardile International Fireworks was fined in the Perth Magistrates Court on Monday after pleading guilty to charges including failing to keep proper records, unlicensed possession of dangerous goods and unlawfully supplying explosives.

The largest single fine was $20,000 for storing, handling and transporting dangerous goods.

The magistrate also ordered the destruction of the dangerous goods.

An offence of failing to comply with a notice was dismissed.
