Grieving husband breaks silence over wife's mystery death

The husband of murdered Pakenham woman Kylie Blackwood has broken his silence four months after his young wife's death.

Peter Blackwood revealed he has set up a foundation in honour of his wife, who was brutally attacked and murdered in their McCaffery Rise home in August.

Mr Blackwood has told a suburban paper he would not want anyone to walk the path he is walking right now.

He added that men need to make a stand in regards to violence against women.

“I wouldn’t want anyone else to walk the path I am walking now – what we went through as a family and what we are still going through,” he told the Pakenham Gazette.

“Everyone has a mother, a wife, a daughter or a sister in the community and the sad thing is that they don’t feel safe anymore.

“It is men who need to make this stand against violence against women and hopefully this foundation can help institute change that can help make that happen.

“It’s something I can do for Kylie.”

Mr Blackwood described the murder of the mother-of-three as a 'sick and despicable crime'.

The police investigation is continuing.
