Appeal for information on Paradise murder weapon

Police investigating a murder in Adelaide’s north eastern suburbs earlier this month have appealed for information from anyone who may recognise the weapon used.

Major Crime detectives have displayed a machete identical to the one they believe was used in the murder of Allen Amin Asrawe at Paradise early on the morning of August 9.

Detective Inspector Greg Hutchins has appealled for anyone who might know anything about the weapon to contact police.

“We believe that identifying where this weapon came from will provide us with vital information in this investigation,” he said.

“If they’ve had one stolen, if they have one missing, if someone’s asked to borrow it or even a salesperson.

“I urge anyone who has information about this weapon to come forward to police.”

Police believe it is one of two sharp weapons used in the attack.

The second has not been recovered.

Police have already arrested and charged a 25-year-old Paralowie man with murder.

They allege the arrested man was with at least one other person when Mr Asrawe was murdered, and are examining DNA samples from the scene.

Detectives also want to hear from anyone who saw a black Audi TT Coupe in the vicinity of Avenue Rd or Urban Ave leading up to the murder.
