Man's body found on Melbourne beach
The homicide squad has been called in to investigate the discovery of a man's body dumped in bushes on a Melbourne beach.
The body, which is yet to be formally identified, was found by a woman walking her dog near the surf life saving club on the foreshore at Rickett's Point, in Beaumaris, just before 9am on Tuesday.
Police are treating the death as suspicious and a crime scene has been set up.
"The deceased had a number of branches placed over him in what looks like an attempt to conceal him," Detective Sergeant Saul Sullivan told reporters at the scene.
Police said the man, who is believed to be in his thirties, was fully clothed and had no obvious signs of injury.
