Djokovic v Cilic in Davis Cup Balkan derby

Dubai (AFP) - Serbia will face Croatia in an explosive Davis Cup Balkan derby in next year's first round, potentially pitting world number one Novak Djokovic against US Open champion Marin Cilic.

Croatia, the 2005 champions, will travel to 2010 winners Serbia in the World Group opener from March 6-8.

This year's finalists France and Switzerland will both travel to face fellow European opposition with nine-time champions France playing Germany, the three-time winners.

Switzerland, meanwhile, will travel to Belgium.

Latin American rivals Brazil and Argentina will face-off in the first meeting between the two nations since 1980 although the two sides have never met in the World Group.

For the second consecutive year, Great Britain and USA have been drawn to face each other in the first round.

After colliding in San Diego this year, the two nations will meet on British soil with the visitors keen to avoid another loss to their great Davis Cup rivals.

The Czech Republic, beaten semi-finalists this year having been champions in 2012 and 2013, host 28-time champions Australia.

Draw for the 2015 Davis Cup World Group made on Thursday:

Germany v France

Great Britain v USA

Czech Republic v Australia

Kazakhstan v Italy

Argentina v Brazil

Serbia v Croatia

Canada v Japan

Belgium v Switzerland

Ties to be played March 6-8, 2015
