Smoke warnings after Melbourne factory fire

Residents in Melbourne's southwest are being urged to stay inside until smoke from a factory fire clears.

Victorian fire crews were called to the Dandenong South fire at around 6:40am this morning.

The blaze was within the plastic and recycling plant on Ordish Road.

The fire was contained quickly however smoke and fumes are still being generated.

According to reports, the factory is full of cardboard, making it difficult for crews.

Residents around Dandenong are being warned about large plumes of smoke being given off and are being told to stay inside until it clears.
