Young SW rider flys WA flag

Year 10 student Roly Kyme has been selected to represent WA in the WA Mountain Bike Association State under-17 downhill team and will compete next month in the Australian Mountain Bike Championships in Victoria.

Roly has been passionate about riding since taking it as a sports elective in Year 7 at Margaret River Primary School, led by teacher and program co-ordinator Peter Delfs.

His achievements include winning the local category in the Red Bull Shootout during the 2014 Cape-to-Cape MTB, coming second in the under-15 downhill at Goat Farm, and most recently taking round 1 of the Gravity Enduro Series in Pemberton in the under-15 class.

The Margaret River Off-Road Cycling Association's Tony Fletcher said the association nominated Roly for selection in the State team and had encouraged his participation in State development camps.

"Roly has shown outstanding natural ability and proved his potential with a win at the recent round of the Gravity Enduro downhill race at Pemberton recently" he said.
