A fourth body was reportedly found by divers close to the crash scene.

"It’s such a small passage of water, just a few minutes distance,” Aegina Mayor Dimitris Mourtzis said.

It's believed the tourist vessel was heading towards the uninhabitated island of Moni when the speed boat hit.

Two passengers on board the tourist vessel were pulled from the water in a serious condition and later flown to Athens for medical treatment.

More passengers were treated for a range of injuries including cuts and shock.

According to local media reports, the speed boat's owner and two passengers are being questioned by police.

The owner reportedly told witnesses he "didn't see anything" in the lead up to the crash.

Witnesses reported seeing the powerful eight-metre launch smash into the side of the tourist ship, which split into two and capsized.
