Hero cow charges men as Indian girl is stabbed to death
WARNING - GRAPHIC: CCTV has captured the moment a raging cow charged at two men who were stabbing a young girl to death in India.
The men, reportedly young girl Seema Gujjar's father and uncle, attacked her at a shelter for women in the city of Gwalior last Friday.
The horrific incident is believed to have been an ‘honour killing’ after the girl eloped with a 22-year-old man against her father’s wishes in January, the Hindustan Times reported.
The young man was soon arrested and jailed for his relationship with 'a minor', and the girl, who refused to return home, was sent to a government-run shelter and later an NGO shelter, which is where she was attacked.
Video shows two men violently assaulting her, while a young calf stands close by.
As a third man comes running towards the attackers and tries to save the girl, a cow appears and charges at the men.
Seemingly trying to protect her calf, the cow viciously tramples two of the men – one of the attackers and the man who tried to save the victim.
The latter can be seen sitting on the floor looking stunned and battered when the cow retreats.
Police said the attackers, one of whom was injured during the incident, had absconded.
Seema died of her injuries.
