The moment a pedophile was challenged by a vigilante group after he agreed to meet who he thought was a teenage girl has been caught on video.

Vigilantes from the group Dark Justice in the UK posed as a 14-year-old girl in an online chat and lured Roger Lee, 45, to meet the ‘girl’, resulting in him being jailed, according to Metro.

Lee had traveled around 480 kilometres from Wiltshire to Newcastle to see the supposed ‘girl’, but upon his arrival was met by the group, who were also filming the event.

He had threatened to kill himself, but was later arrested and has now been jailed.

The judge described him as a danger to children.

“You were caught by internet vigilantes, which is the best way of describing them, who pretended to be a female and you entered into a conversation with them on the internet,” Metro reports the judge as saying.

“It soon became apparent what they did was pretend the female was 14. You went for it. I am firmly of the view you are a dangerous individual to young children.”

Prosecutors alleged Lee had a profile on website Badoo, and sent graphic images to who he thought was the girl.

Lee pleaded guilty to attempting to meet a child following sexual grooming.

The two men behind Dark Justice said: “This sentence shows what we do works. We continue to do it.”

“We want to prevent this sort of thing from happening, see a change in the law so that internet users have to identify themselves by credit card, something has to happen.”
