Woolworths launches 70 new items – and the cheapest is $3

Woolworths has unveiled its largest new food launch since Christmas with 70 items being added just in time for winter.

The launch adds more than 70 new items to the Woolworths COOK range, including roasts, meal kits, and options for vegans and vegetarians.

The meals celebrate Australian-made ingredients and meat and also have RSPCA-approved chicken.

"Woolworths is introducing more than 70 convenient new fresh meal solutions, ideal for mid-week dinners or entertaining, to help customers save time on winter-warming dishes over the cooler months," Woolworths said in a statement.

The new items launched on Wednesday and are available at Woolworths supermarkets or online. Prices range from $3 to $28.

Customers can enjoy quick and easy oven cooked roasts, such as Boneless Rolled Chicken Roast with Lemon, Garlic, Thyme and Sourdough stuffing and Beef Rump Mini Roast with Mustard and Herb.

While the COOK range is also taking inspiration from international cuisine, providing meal kits for under $10, like Butter Chicken Curry and Vietnamese Yellow Pork Curry, and vegetarian and vegan options like Plant-Based Jackfruit Chilli and Plant-Based Chickpea Tagine.

Woolworths has also added to its range of crumbed chicken and Meze-style and entertaining spreads like Mushroom Arancini, Zucchini Fritters and Beef Kofta using 100 per cent Australian beef mince.

Woolworths introduces new range of Strength Meals

Woolworths is also introducing the exclusive range of Strength Meals Co products in the Fresh Ready Meals and Soups department.

"This high-protein range makes healthier and fresh options more convenient for customers who lead active and fast paced lifestyles," Woolworths said in a press release.

Woolworths Director of Buying Paul Harker said customer's feedback was kept in mind when creating the new range.

"We’ve put customer feedback at the heart of our new winter range, with customers telling us they’re looking for convenient and affordable options," he said.

“But they’re also looking for larger portion sizes, so we’ve increased the size of several lines like our stir-fry and introduced hearty dishes for roasting, offering better value for families or for entertaining."
