Woman 'disappointed' by Woolworths meat pie missing essential ingredient

A Woolworths customer was left feeling a little hungry after she bit into a meat pie to find one vital ingredient missing.

“Just a little disappointed, sat the family down to some Woolies pies and found no meat in a meat pie,” the customer posted on Facebook along with images of her empty-looking Woolworths brand meat pie.

The Woolworths brand meat pie boasts on the packaging “packed with meat” but the customer’s photos showed there was one pie that wasn’t packed with anything but pastry.

Social media reacted with Facebook users describing the mystery of the missing meat as “bloody un-Australian.”

“Was that in the vegan section?” one person asked.

“These must be the new diet pies,” another user joked.

One user did take the the situation with some seriousness and advised the meat pie lover on what to do next.

“It’s just a machine malfunction, it happens, if you contact the company they’ll replace the whole pack or refund you,” a helpful user wrote.

The Woolworths website confirmed the refund policy with proof of purchase.

“If the product you buy from Woolworths Supermarkets is faulty or if you are not satisfied with it, then we will cheerfully refund the purchase price, exchange or repair the product,” the website states.

A Woolworths spokesperson told Yahoo News Australia they were investigating.

“We'll look into how it happened and ensure the customers gets a refund or replacement product,” Woolworths said.
