Woman's body discovered outside Queensland motel
A Queensland motel is now a crime scene after a woman’s body was found outside, sparking a murder investigation.
Emergency services were called to the motel at Maryborough on the Fraser Coast just after 5am on Saturday following reports of a disturbance.
They found the woman’s body outside Maryborough City Motel on Ferry Street.
A crime scene has been established with detectives and forensic officers investigating. Police are treating the dead as “suspicious”.
“Queensland Ambulance Services have attended the scene and attended to the victim but she was found to be deceased at the scene,” Acting Detective Inspector Wade Lee told the Courier Mail.
“The cause of death is still unknown, we have a forensic team … still trying to determine the cause of death.
Police have appealed for information from anyone who was travelling in the area shortly before 5am this morning or who observed any suspicious behaviour in the area to contact them.
