Woman walks out of Woolworths $100,000 richer

A Woolworths customer has become $100,000 richer while standing in the freezer aisle deciding what to have for dinner.

The Coffs Harbour resident was in her local store when she received a life-changing call informing her that she’d just won first prize in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10735 on November 29.

She was in disbelief at the news, and quickly ditched her dinner plans to go home and celebrate.

“Wow! Is this true?!” she said when contacted by officials from The Lott.

“We’ve had such a s*** year, so this is really life-changing. I’m standing in the middle of a Woolworths aisle deciding what to buy for dinner but instead, I’m going to go pay for my groceries and rush home!”

The woman said she was “over the moon”, with the windfall expected to arrive in her bank account before Christmas.

“I haven’t really had much time to think about what we will do with the prize, but I know it will come in handy for Christmas,” she said. “We will definitely celebrate tonight!”

$50 million Powerball winner comes forward

The shopper’s lucky win came in the same week that Powerball’s elusive winner was finally tracked down. The NSW resident was uncontactable by phone for four days before they claimed their incredible prize on November 28.

"The winning player confessed they were still struggling to come to terms with their newfound fortune," The Lott said. However the winner has decided to forgo the customary post-win interview, instead deciding to remain "completely anonymous".

The winning entry was purchased at Tull’s Newsagency in Forster.
