Woman who hid gun in unusual place pleads guilty
A woman who had been accused of hiding a loaded handgun inside her vaginal cavity has pleaded guilty to weapon and drug charges.
According to Illinois-based newspaper The Pantagraph, Anika Witt – believed to be 27 from Ozark, Missouri – pleaded guilty to possession of a weapon by a felon and to unlawful possession of a controlled substance on Friday.
A prosecutor’s statement read in court on September 2017 alleged a loaded Kimber .380-caliber handgun was found inside Witt’s body during a strip search undertaken by a female correctional officer at McLean County jail.
Ms Witt had been stopped for speeding on September 7 and it is reported a search uncovered heroin in her bra, while ecstasy was found in the vehicle, the prosecutor’s statement read.
