Woman finds uninvited guest in her bag of salad

A Perth woman has found an uninvited guest in her Woolworths spinach.

Alicia Foster posted a picture of the find on the Woolworths Facebook page and told the supermarket giant to “lift your game”.

“Geez, Woolies,” she wrote.

“Lift your game. I have spinach I bought from you guys and have found a live moth in it.”

Woolworths responded to Ms Foster’s post saying it’s “sorry to see there’s a moth in our spinach”.

“We pride ourselves on providing the highest quality food to our customers and we’re also disappointed to see this.

“We’d like to notify the relevant teams for their immediate awareness to ensure this is being looked into and to avoid for issues like this happening again.”

Woolworths also urged her to message them about where and when it was purchased and advised of its “Fresh or Free Guarantee” to receive a refund or replacement.

It’s not known if Ms Foster has taken up Woolworths’s offer.

Last month a Sydney man claimed he found a dead slug in his Guzman y Gomez chicken burrito bowl purchased from Newtown.

Guzman y Gomez head office told Yahoo7 the find was being investigated and treated it with “utmost seriousness”.
