Woman finds bizarre note in her ready-made meal from Coles

A woman is “very unhappy” after making an unusual find in her frozen meal purchased from Coles.

The woman took to Coles’ Facebook page on Tuesday to complain about the Super Nature frozen butter chicken wellness bowl she recently purchased.

“When I got home and removed the cardboard this note was underneath,” she wrote.

An accompanying photo shows a torn up piece of paper with a pig scribbled on it.

"If we could live happy, healthy lives without harming others why wouldn't we?” it reads, with reference to vegan activism clips listed below.

“I am very unhappy that my meal was tampered with. I don't feel safe eating it,” the woman said, adding that she had contacted the manufacturer.

In a response to her post, Coles said it was “very sorry to hear this” and asked for the product’s barcode and other identifying features.

Yahoo News Australia has contacted Coles and Vesco Foods, which manufactures Super Nature’s range, for comment.

While some people found the note amusing, one man suggested whoever’s responsible needs to be careful.

“Though it may just be the packaging that has been 'tampered' the companies may not want to take the chance that the food has also been tampered with,” he wrote.

“This could lead to a recall and the destruction of the products leading to waste and the reproduction of more stock to fill the shelves. Thereby increasing the demand for the ingredient inputs.

“What a waste,” he said.
