Woman dies two days after botched breast procedure at Sydney clinic
The 35-year-old woman who went into cardiac arrest during a botched breast implant procedure at a Sydney beauty salon has tragically died.
Jean Huang was rushed to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a critical condition after emergency services were called to the Carlton Street Broadway clinic about 3.30pm on Wednesday.
Police confirmed she died on Friday afternoon.
A 33-year-old woman has been charged in relation to the medical procedure was on a tourist visa from China and is not medically registered in Australia.
On Thursday Jei Shao faced Sydney's Central Local Court accused of recklessly causing harm by administering a poisonous substance.
During her bail application the court heard Shao had studied in China, but had no qualifications in Australia.
She had studied at the Guangdong Medical University, specialising in dermatology, and had worked in Great Britain and China.
The court heard Shao had only been in the country for five days on a tourist visa and was due to fly home to China on Thursday.
Bail was refused on grounds that Shao was a flight risk.
