Woman, 18, charged over Christmas Day hit-and-run


A woman has been charged over a hit and run on Christmas Day south of Perth.

A man in his 40s was found unconscious on Mandurah Road, Mandurah on December 25 about 6.45pm.

He was treated in hospital for serious injuries and placed in an induced coma, police said.

While he’s since regained consciousness he is still in hospital.

It’s alleged a woman hit him with a vehicle and left the scene.

On Thursday, police charged an 18-year-old woman with a number of offences including failing to stop and ensure assistance received after an incident occasioning grievous bodily harm, being the driver of a motor vehicle involved in an incident occasioning grievous bodily harm, and failing to report incident to WA Police.

She will face court on February 15.
