Seven News Sydney gets behind Westmead Children’s Hospital annual Radiothon

Seven News Sydney is supporting smoothfm for the annual Radiothon for The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.

Now in its fifth year, the appeal has so far raised more than $4 million.

Seven News viewers and smoothfm listeners will be asked to dig deep on Friday 17 November by donating to the Hospital, the largest paediatric centre in NSW. Radiothon raises much-needed money to fund lifesaving equipment, research into childhood disease, and deliver vital services to patients and families.

Founded in 1880, The Children’s Hospital at Westmead is a public hospital, with 4,467 staff across 150 departments looking after more than 80,000 sick children and their families each year. This includes around 32,000 inpatient admissions, 57,000 emergency department presentations and more than 886,000 outpatient visits.

The Radiothon will kick off from 6pm on Thursday 16 November and will run until 6pm on Friday 17 November, with Seven News broadcasting live from the Hospital throughout the day.

The Seven News team – including Mark Ferguson, Mel McLaughlin, Michael Usher, Jim Wilson and Angie Asimus – will be on hand throughout the day to help take donations, and share stories and laughs with young patients and their families.

Special entertainment just for patients and their families will include; Leo Sayer, Brothers3, Alfie Arcuri, the Bearded Bakers, Erth dinosaurs, baby animals, face painting, barbecues and more.
