WATCH: Moment teen is chased down after stealing from busker
A busker has stopped a would be thief from stealing his earnings for the day and he managed to capture it all on camera.
Guitarist Martin Campos was live streaming his set on Facebook in the middle of busy Pitt Street Mall in Sydney CBD on Saturday afternoon, when a teenager allegedly grabbed his basket of money and made a run for it.
Mr Campos didn’t hesitate to drop everything and chase down the alleged thief, pinning him to the ground and taking back the cash.
“The guy grabbed my case full of notes so I ran after him and luckily, others had seen what happened and managed to catch him,” Mr Campos told Daily Mail Australia.
“At first I was angry but afterwards, I just felt sorry for the guy,” he said.
Mr Campos and witnesses managed to detain the man until police arrived on the seen, shortly before 6pm.
Despite almost losing his day’s earnings, Mr Campos said he wasn’t holding a grudge.
“At first I was angry but afterwards, I just felt sorry for the guy,” he said.
Police arrested the 18-year-old man from Hillsdale on Saturday, he will face Parramatta court on Sunday.
