Wannabe racer jailed over terrifying dare

Jack Cottle completed the high-speed circuit as a dare which was recorded by a giggling mate as he ignored his terrified girlfriend's pleas to stop.

Heart-stopping video showed the young labourer driving his girlfriend's car onto the Brands Hatch motor racing circuit in Britain - while a professional race was underway.

His girlfriend knew it was wrong and potentially deadly when he drove the car onto the Brands Hatch race track in Kent.

"Oh my god this is wrong. Jack, this is not right," she is heard saying.

Commentators were left bemused as Cottle kept the 160 kilometre an hour pace.

"Why is there a Vokswagon Golf on the track?" they asked.

Meanwhile inside the car... "Whe're on the track boys and girls," the driver said.

"Jack you're going to f**k my car," his girlfriend replies.

"If you care about me stop it please."

Today, in a court near London Cottle was sentenced to eight months in jail.

A joke Cottle apparently still found funny in the court room, but the judge said this was inexcusable.

Now off the track - and in a prison cell. The 22-year-old has been described as an idiot by race organisers.
