Senior bikie pleads guilty to brutal baseball bat attack

WARNING GRAPHIC FOOTAGE: Shocking CCTV showing a senior Perth bikie use a baseball bat to repeatedly hit a man, before stomping on him has been shown in court.

Paul Marsandi, the former Vice President of the Rebels Rockingham chapter, has pleaded guilty to the brutal attack that happened in a Port Kennedy carpark in 2014.

The grainy, dark vision shows Marsandi use a baseball bat to deliver blow after blow on victim Robin Yarran.

The District Court has heard the beating was the result of a dispute over the ownership of a Jeep.

Mr Yarran was left with life-threatening injuries including a broken jaw, a broken nose, skull fractures, a fractured cheekbone, a broken finger and a fractured wrist.

Marsandi’s lawyers told the court the senior bikie didn’t really know Mr Yarran, but knew of his reputation as a dangerous man.

The lawyer said Marsandi feared Mr Yarran was carrying a gun, which helps explain why he acted like he did.

Rebels nominee Christopher Allen and the Rockingham chapter president Jason Gastarov have also been charged over the attack, and pleaded guilty.

Lawyers for the two men have argued the attack wasn’t premeditated and had nothing to do with their association with the bikie gang.

All three men will be sentenced on Thursday.
