Violent Vic criminal on the run
A dangerous criminal with a history of violence and weapons offences is on the run.
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of 35-year-old Altona North man Andrew Brian Males.
Males was on remand in relation to threats to kill, serious assault and weapons related offenses when he failed to show at Melbourne Magistrates Court.
"The circumstances around his release from custody are being investigated by Victoria Police and Corrections Victoria," Victoria Police said in a statement.
Males is described as Caucasian, 180cm tall, with a stocky build and heavily tattooed arms.
Detectives believe he could be travelling to Mildura with 36-year-old Kim Michelle McLean of Newport.
She is described as Caucasian with dark hair and a medium building.
Police have released images of the pair.
Males has a significant history of violence and weapons offences and the public has been urged not to approach him.
