Man Attacks Police Officer on Sunshine Coast

Police arrested a man after he allegedly assaulted a police officer in Balmoral Ridge, Queensland, on December 22.

The man allegedly attacked the officer in the head while he was pulled over during a routine intercept. After that, he stole the officer’s helmet attached to a bodycam, which recorded the incident. The 47-year-old male sergeant was treated for facial injuries.

After police issued an appeal on December 24, Keven De Vroom, 45, turned himself in to police on December 27 at Maroochydore Police Station, where he was charged with a number of offences. Credit: Queensland Police Service via Storyful
