Syrian Air Force Helicopter Downed Amid Clashes West of Damascus

Fighting erupted between Syrian government forces and opposition factions on December 1 near Mount Hermon, to the west of Damascus, according to local activist media and regional observers.

Opposition fighters shot down a Syrian government helicopter over Beit Jin near the mountain, pro-opposition media said.

The Syrian Coalition and Lebanese media also reported on the downed helicopter.

A pro-regime media group, Damascus Now, said the crew had been killed.
