Mother's horror as toddler slips between train and platform

A mother watched in horror as her young daughter fell between a train and the platform in Melbourne's north last week.

CCTV video of the incident at Reservoir Station last Friday shows the mother holding the child while pushing a pram as she got off the train.

The little girl, aged two or three, slipped from her mother's arms and disappeared into the gap between the platform and the train.

The mother can be seen trying to rescue her child as other commuters rush to help and alert the driver.

Metro has urged all parents to hold their children's hands when getting on and off carriages.

Thankfully, the girl escaped the ordeal unharmed and the train left the station minutes later.
