Ute ploughs into Perth home, explodes into flames in 'targeted attack'
Security cameras have captured the moment a ute ploughed into a home and exploded into flames.
Police believe this was a deliberate attack on the house in Hessian Street, Aveley - where a family, including a newborn baby, were sound asleep inside.
Luckily, no one was hurt.
In the footage a dual cab ute can be seen reversing at speed into a garage door at approximately 3.30am on Monday morning.
Two seconds later the driver makes a run for it into a waiting sedan, which speeds away as the abandoned ute is engulfed by flames.
Inside the Hessian Street house was a couple and their nine day old baby, woken by the loud popping sound.
Along with their neighbours, they tried to douse the fire with water from a garden hose until fire fighters arrived.
The home owner and his young family were inside the front bedroom when the incident happened.
He told Seven News he doesn't know why his house appeared to have been targeted.
