Urgent recall of baby sleep bags due to fire hazard
A range of baby sleeping bags has been recalled after watchdog officials found them in breech of fire safety labelling requirements.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) announced on May 29 the Peanut Shell Infant Sleep Bags by Farallon Brands had inadequate safety warnings.
“The product does not comply with the fire hazard labelling requirements of the mandatory standard 'Consumer Goods Safety Standard 2017',” its website stated.
An urgent recall was issued because some of the sleep bags were found to be missing the required fire hazard label.
The ACCC said due to this, some parents or carers might not be aware of the fire hazard and therefore children could be at risk of burning themselves.
The watchdog urged consumers with an affected baby bag to immediately cease using it and return it to Oz Sale for a full refund.
