Uber Eats 'glitch' sees woman receive empty McDonald's box
A copy of the receipt shows that a total of eight ingredients were deselected from the burger, leaving almost nothing remaining.
A woman has gone hungry after an apparent glitch on Uber Eats saw her sent an empty box which should have had a McDonald's burger inside.
The woman, named Mel, posted her disappointing find to social media after she apparently tried to order a Double Big Mac, but what she described as a "glitch" ended up deselecting almost every ingredient on the burger, resulting in her being sent a sad, empty box.
'Glitch' leaves woman with empty burger box
"There was a glitch in the Uber Eats app and somehow deselected every ingredient," Mel wrote. "Macca's stuff must have thought I was cooked and just sent me an empty box".

Though, as one person pointed out, there should've actually been a single beef patty. "Technically, there should have been one patty in the box," a man joked. "There are two all-beef patties and the instructions only removes one."
Not the first Macca's mix-up recently
Just weeks ago, a similar incident occurred at another Western Australian Macca's.
The pregnant customer was left with an insatiable appetite in March after ripping into her breakfast delivery only to discover an empty wrapper and odd note tucked inside.
The woman made the surprising — and disappointing — find after ordering a sausage McMuffin from the fast-food chain’s store in Maylands, Perth, her boyfriend claimed online.
The man said his girlfriend ordered the McMuffin minus the egg, but was instead handed a note stating: “Sausage egg has egg, muffins, sausage and cheese. It’s a no for everything so we have just given the wrapping.”
However, he explained she had ordered a “regular sausage McMuffin”, not a sausage and egg McMuffin, “with no additions or removals”.
“Which makes it even worse!” he wrote on social media alongside an image of the handwritten letter taped to the brown McDonald's bag and empty wrapper.
“What a world! I got a good chuckle out of it but hell hath no fury like a pregnant woman.”
