Two men charged after bloody Sydney brawl with knives and metal poles ends in death

Two men have been charged after a Sydney brawl that left one person dead and at least four injured in the city’s western suburbs.

A number of men armed with knives, metal poles and other weapons are accused of taking part in a bloody battle after a domestic dispute escalated out of control.

A 26-year-old man died shortly after arriving at Liverpool Hospital where he was being treated for serious stab wounds.

A 23-year-old man has since been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and going armed with intent to commit an indictable offence after he was released from hospital. Another 26-year-old man has been charged with affray.

Both men were refused bail and will appear at Fairfield Local Court on Monday.

Police were called to Howitt Place in Bonnyrigg on Friday night, following reports of a stabbing, to find five men with serious stab wounds and fractures to their faces.

Residents had very little sleep when they woken by distressing sounds coming from inside their neighbour's residence.

Two men came out of a neighbouring home and were confronted by her angry partner and five of his friends.

The men were allegedly armed with metal poles and knives.

The most concerning issue now for residents on this street is that there are a lot of young children living in the area.

Three kids all under the age of seven were in the house when that fight broke out and their father was injured during the attack.
