Truck fire on Tonkin Highway

The driver of a tipper truck escaped unharmed after the $200,000 vehicle caught fire on Tonkin Highway in Oakford last night.

The fire started in the truck’s motor about 7.08pm and completely destroyed the vehicle.

Five fire trucks attended the scene and the blaze caused a heavy build-up of traffic on the highway last night.

No-one was injured in the fire.
