Tradie's shocking attack on taxi driver stops peak-hour traffic

A punch-up in the middle of the street has stopped peak-hour traffic in Sydney with shocked witnesses looking on as a tradesman attacked a taxi driver.

Footage of the incident shows pedestrians running on the street and intervening.

The incident happened just before 5pm on Monday, with footage showing the barrage of punches was relentless.

The tradie punches the taxi driver at least 19 times before others managed to intervene.

Witnesses told 7 News he was accusing the taxi driver of trying to run him over.

They also claimed the tradie was allegedly jumping up and down on the taxi driver’s bonnet before the video footage was taken.

After the attack, the tradie stormed off.

The footage has been handed over to police who are investigating.

The tradie is likely to face charges overnight, NSW Police told Yahoo7.
