Antonio Conte wants Tottenham to secure more signings in time for their pre-season tour of South Korea, as they firm up their interest in Raphinha and Richarlison.

There is an understanding that a big-money move for a new forward could drag on longer but ideally Conte wants to boost his squad further before Spurs fly out to Asia on July 9.

Conte has made it clear he wants to build a squad capable of challenging for trophies at Tottenham, and Raphinha and Richarlison are among their top targets.

Spurs want to strengthen their already brilliant front three of Harry Kane, Heung-min Son and Dejan Kulusevski in a move that highlights their ambition. They have ended their interest in Gabriel Jesus, leaving Arsenal clear to wrap up a deal for a player who is valued at £50million by Manchester City.

Tottenham are said to be preparing an opening bid for Raphinha. Arsenal have had an initial offer for the Brazil forward rejected by Leeds and now Spurs are ready to swoop.

Leeds will demand around £60m for the 25-year-old, who is keen to the play in the Champions League. Raphinha is believed to favour a move to Barcelona and is thought to have agreed terms with the Catalan club, but their financial situation means a deal is unlikely.

Spurs are also interested in Richarlison. Everton want more than £50m but need to raise money through player sales this summer and could be forced to lower their valuation.

Everton are in talks over a move for midfielder Harry Winks, who could be used as a makeweight in any deal for Richarlison.

Joe Lewis, the multi-billionaire Tottenham owner, has injected an extra £150m into the club to guarantee Conte major backing in the transfer market.

Spurs have already been active this summer. They have signed Yves Bissouma in a £25m deal and brought in Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster on free transfers. They are also targeting a £15m move for right wing-back Djed Spence and want to sign a left-sided centre-back.

Conte wants Tottenham to do the bulk of their transfer business early this summer because he sees a full pre-season as crucial as the club prepares to return to the Champions League.

Spurs players will begin reporting back for pre-season training from the start of next week, when those who were injured at the end of last season, including Oliver Skipp and Matt Doherty, are due back.

Non-international players are set to return on July 4, with the rest of the squad expected back later that week before the squad fly to Korea on July 9.

As Tottenham target a new forward, Steven Bergwijn has been told he can leave and Ajax are prepared to break their transfer record to sign the Dutch international.

Spurs want over £20m for Bergwijn and Sebastien Haller’s transfer to Borussia Dortmund will help Ajax fund a move for him.
