Toddler killed after being hit by car in NSW driveway

A toddler has died after being hit by a car in the driveway of a home on NSW's Mid North Coast.

The 20-month-old girl was reportedly struck by a ute at a home in Taree about 5pm on Tuesday.

The toddler was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Manning Rural Referral Hospital where she later died.

The male driver of the ute, a 24-year-old man, has been sent for blood and urine testing.

Officers from Manning and Great Lakes Police District established a crime scene and commenced investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
