Three share honour of De Grey medal
The 2014 De Grey medal came down to a three-way tie for the second time in the league's history on Friday night.
South Hedland Swans' Shane Beros, Karratha Kats' Adrian Papertalk and Karratha Falcons' Michael Formanzyck shared the honours with 13 votes each.
It is the sixth time Formanzyck has won the fairest and best medal, after last winning it in 2012.
Other awards on the night were clearer, with Port Hedland Rovers' Adam Waight booting 53 goals to be the leading goal-scorer for the season.
The Colin Matheson Medal for the reserves fairest and best went to Tristen Myers from the Rovers.
Beau Alec took out the leading reserves goalscorer award with a final tally of 48.
Rovers stalwart Trevor Brodie was surprised on the night when he was inducted as an NPFL life member after 28 years of service for his club and the league.
Michel Simpson was commended for passing the 700-game milestone with the whistle.
Umpire encouragement awards were also handed out to Amanda Beedieson and Cynthia Cameron Turpland.
Bev Hockey was awarded with the NPFL volunteer of the year award for 33 years of service behind the scenes.
