A 54-year-old woman received significant chest and abdominal injuries when a kangaroo attacked at a private residence at Cypress Gardens, near Toowoomba, on Saturday evening.

Paramedics were called to the property just before 7pm to treat the woman, who was taken to Toowoomba Hospital by road, a Queensland Ambulance Service confirmed to Yahoo7.

The kangaroo had run away before paramedics arrived.

A doctor and LifeFlight crew met the patient en route. She is believed to be in a stable condition.

A 66-year-old man and a 40-year-old man also received small lacerations in the attack and were treated at the scene.

The incident comes after a man was attacked by a kangaroo on a golf course in Sydney’s north-west last week.

Paramedics were called to the Riverside Oaks Golf Resort in Cattai on October 3 to find a 52-year-old man with lacerations to his thigh, face and arms.
