A murder investigation has been launched and three people have been arrested after a man died from stab wounds in Hull.

Police were called to Arundel Close, off Victor Street, on Wednesday evening at about 22:00 BST.

A 45-year-old man was taken to hospital, but died from his injuries a short time later, Humberside Police said.

Two men, aged 44 and 47, and a woman, aged 39, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and all three remain in police custody.

Det Ch Insp Jayne Goodens said the incident would "likely cause shock and concern" in the community, but officers believed it "to be an incident between individuals known to each other, with no wider risk to the public".

The injured man was believed to have suffered stab wounds outside a property, according to a statement from the force.

Officers remained at the scene and were conducting house-to-house inquiries. CCTV footage was also being reviewed.
