EY launches entrepreneur awards

EY has launched its Australian Entrepreneur of the Year program with the announcement of 21 nominees for its western region awards.

They include established business figures including LNG Ltd chief executive Maurice Brand and GMA Garnet Group’s Torsten Ketelsen, as well as emerging entrepreneurs such as Suzanne Daubney of Bannister Downs Dairy.

“Each of the nominees in this year’s program has the courage and conviction to make their business dreams a reality and, in the process, they are helping build a better working world by creating new jobs, driving innovation and productivity, boosting the economy and inspiring others,” EY’s WA managing partner, Michael Anghie, said.

The regional awards will be announced on July 23 in Perth, with the winners competing for national honours in Sydney in October.

The nominees are Matthew Allen (Subcon Technologies), Russell Baskerville (Empired), Paul Bitdorf (Nicheliving), Maurice Brand (LNG), Damian Collins (Momentum Wealth), Suzanne Daubney (Bannister Downs Dairy), Ayman Haydar (Haydar), Scott Houston (Executive Risk Solutions), Torsten Ketelsen (GMA Garnet Group), Lauren Knee (Silk), Veronica Macpherson (MACRO Realty Developments), Rick Musarra (CraneCorp Australia), Petra Nelson (Bright People Technologies), Savvas Papadopoulos (Aerison), Tim St Pierre (Resonance Health), Marcus Tan (HealthEngine), Craig Thompson (Sea Corporation) and Benjamin Trinh (Life Ready Health Group).
