Dad charged over's daughter's death

A father has been charged over a crash that killed his eight-year-old daughter in Noranda last month.

Claudia Blak was a front-seat passenger in her father Darren's silver Ford Falcon station wagon when it allegedly struck the back of a stationary Holden Rodeo utility on Benara Road on November 15.

The girl received critical head injuries when the passenger side of the windscreen hit the tray of the utility. She was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital but died the next morning.

Major crash investigators yesterday charged Darren Blak, 35, with dangerous driving causing death.

Mr Blak has posted an image on his Facebook page showing a memorial he had made for his only child, which included a photograph of her hugging him and a candle he said he lit nightly.

"Every night I light a candle to remember my little girl and before I go to bed I blow it out and tell her goodnight and that I love her . . . I miss her so much," he posted on Thursday.

The day after Claudia's death, Mr Blak and Claudia's mother Sharon Armstrong told _The West Australian _their daughter had charisma and zest for life that would light up a room.

"(She had) a heart of gold that was just filled with so many dreams," they said. "Her passion and her cheeky smile changed our world for ever in a way I can never explain."

Mr Blak is expected to face Perth Magistrate's Court next month.
