Shelina Zadorsky will spend Christmas at home with her family, surrounded by snow in the middle of Ontario's freezing winter.

But before the 22-year-old Canada international heads back to the Great White North, she has one important matter to address - helping Perth Glory claim their maiden W-League championship.

Glory meet Sydney FC in a knockout semifinal at nib Stadium tomorrow.

Glory will host the grand final next Sunday if they win.

Zadorsky has been a rock alongside Matildas player Alana Kennedy in the heart of defence this year, the pair playing a key role as Glory racked up a record points tally during the regular season.

Now their eyes are on the big prize.

"Defence is what you rely on to win championships so hopefully we can continue that through the finals," Zadorsky said.

"Alana has been a huge influ- ence.

"Just seeing her composure on the ball, how she distributes and how she communicates has been really good.

"I think we work really well together."

Eager to gain international experience after graduating from the University of Michigan, Zadorsky couldn't have wished for anything more out of her first season abroad.

"I didn't really know what to expect, but I know when I first came and in that first couple of weeks I was really impressed with the girls and how they played," Zadorsky said.

"It took me a little while to adjust but I feel like I fit in.

"We've all improved over this season and as a team we just keep getting better.

"Being able to hold that record of most points in W-League history this season is something really special and I'm so fortunate to be a part of the team.

"I couldn't ask for more."

Zadorsky is considering her options for next year in Europe and North America, and has sought the advice of experienced Glory teammates Kate Gill and Collette McCallum.

She is also eyeing a spot on Canada's team for the World Cup next year.

But Zadorsky hasn't ruled out another stint Down Under.

"I won't downplay how jealous all of my friends and family are of my lifestyle here in Australia," Zadorsky said.

"It's like nothing else. It's so beautiful."

Tomorrow's semifinal kicks off at noon.
