WA derby in national water polo

Aaron Younger and Joe Kayes will play for Fremantle on Friday night.

New-look Fremantle Mariners and UWA Torpedoes teams will square off in the national water polo league game at Bicton Pool on Friday night.

League powerhouse Fremantle welcome back national players Aaron Younger and Joe Kayes while 2013 silver medallists the Torpedoes will be bolstered by import Alex Codina and former Drummoyne Devils player Mitch Emery, from Sydney.

Younger and Kayes, who played for the Aussie Sharks in Tests against Croatia and Russia in Perth earlier this month, will head up a Mariners team including young guns Luke Pavillard and Jordan Kremers-Taylor.

National squad members Luke Quinlivan and George and Andrew Ford are regulars for UWA Torpedoes.

Fixtures (Bicton Pool): Men: Fremantle Mariners v UWA Torpedoes at 6.45pm. Women: Fremantle Marlins v UWA Torpedoes at 8.15pm.
