The final group of players from Tom Price have returned home after an impressive performance at the Basketball WA Country Championships in Perth.

The under-14 girls' side started the competition on a high note, winning their first game 16-5.

The girls put up a great fight against Collie, losing 26-8, and went down in subsequent matches against Waroona and Narrogin.

Coach Sarah Carslake said country week was a great opportunity for juniors to experience playing in a professional arena.

"All the coaches, managers and children have had a fantastic time enjoying a great display of basketball at its best," she said.

"The club raised over $12,000 including grants to get to the 2015 County Week in Perth and other coaches seemed amazed to see how far Tom Price had come as a club."

Ailish Gordon, 11, said since returning from the championships, her under-14s had brought their game up a notch.

"Since the champs, we have improved our game and learnt lots from the experience," she said.

The under-14 boys' side, coached by Matt Bray and Natalie Hutchinson, also started the competition strongly, smashing Bindoon 35-14.

In their next game, they came within two points of Harvey, however the latter pulled away, winning 24-17.

The boys went down to a strong Katanning side and lost by two points to Donnybrook, ending the competition third on the ladder with two wins.

The under-16s won one out of five of their games in the competition.

After a three-game winning streak against Bindoon, Merriden and Collie, the Tom Price men's side just missed out on top spot after going down to Pinjarra 36-27 in the finals.

Tom Price's Roderick Hughes had the highest point average in the men's competition, finishing on a game average of 14 points and the highest match-point total of 28.
