Youth bounces into officers' hands - police

An alleged scooter thief bounced from a trampoline into the hands of arresting officers last night, police have revealed.

Police received a complaint of a stolen scooter at 8.50pm. It is alleged a 17-year-old youth was spotted driving the vehicle in Karloo by patrolling officers.

The male was followed by police and fell off the scooter before attempting to run, police allege.

It is then alleged the he jumped a fence where he encountered a trampoline.

“The rider jumped over a house fence, landing onto a trampoline below,” Geraldton police Sgt Grant Rosman said.

“The rider has then bounced back up into the air where police were able to catch hold of him and pull him back over the fence.”

Sgt Rosman said the youth received seven charges including driving with excess 0.08 alcohol, stealing a motor vehicle, possession of cannabis and failing to stop.
