The controversial duo, who made a name for themselves as the villains of the hit Channel Seven series in 2014, gave the West End Deli a 9 out of 20 in their weekly column in the Sunday Times Magazine.

The pair ended the review by claiming that Chloe suggested they “head to the Leedi for dinner, take two?” after a disappointing meal at the Carr Street eatery which they said included a Sri Lankan style curry which tasted like burnt spices.

But in a Facebook post which has been shared more than 2000 times and ‘liked’ more than 9000 times, the Deli hit back today.

They claimed that only Kelly, not Chloe, dined at their restaurant and said the review took place in October.

“Firstly, only Kelly Ramsay was in attendance on this evening. She dined with her fiancé, seems like a nice bloke actually,” the post read.

“The scathing review reads 'On the walk home, Chloe sighed, "Shall we head to Leedy for dinner, take 2?" Not only was this a cheap shot but it's a fabrication. We would love to know how Chloe can fairly put her name to a review of a restaurant and food that she has not actually experienced?”

The Deli then suggested that Kelly failed to pay the bill until seven weeks later.

“Kelly's credit card was declined. She was obviously quite embarrassed and promised to come back the next day and settle the $260 bill. That's the last we heard of Kelly for close to 7 weeks. We rang, left voicemails and text Kelly numerous times but were ignored completely until late December. It was only when Chloe emailed in December that the bill was begrudgingly settled.”

“Call us crazy but being reviewed by someone who deliberately avoided payment and had to be tracked down almost 2 months after the event, led us to believe that their review may be loaded with negative bias. At the very least a conflict of interest.”

By last night, more than 1000 people had written comments in support of the restaurant, including many whom had never dined there but vowed to in the near future.
