Major Crash Investigators are seeking information regarding a fatal crash in Cockburn
yesterday.

A police spokeswoman said that at about 2:05pm, a Transperth bus was travelling west on a slip road out of the car park of the Cockburn Central shopping centre.

"As the bus started to turn left onto Midgegooroo Avenue, a 49-year-old Thornlie man stepped
off the footpath into the path of the bus," the spokeswoman said.

"The bus hit the man causing him to fall backwards and strike his head on the road."

The man received serious head injuries and was taken to Royal Perth Hospital where he died
a short time later.

Anyone who was in the area at the time and saw the incident or who has any information
regarding this incident, are asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
