Edelsten loses glass eye
Gabi Grecko has explained the reason behind her boyfriend Geoffrey Edelsten's new accessory - an eye patch.
The 24-year-old has revealed that her 71-year-old partner normally wears a $30,000 glass eye after losing his right eyeball to glaucoma and that she accidentally tossed it in the bin recently.
The ocular prosthesis had been sitting in the lid of a bottle of shaving cream on the bathroom counter in the Melbourne penthouse the couple share when the American model and DJ mistook it for rubbish and chucked it out.
"When I first moved in I was going through the bathroom and he had his $30,000 eye in a shaving cream cap," Grecko said.
"And I threw the cap away - it had the eye still in it - I didn't know."
Thankfully for Edelsten, who hooked up with Grecko after splitting with wife Brynne in January, the couple did find the valuable glass eye.
"We were searching through the garbage to find it, we both were. I was so relieved when I found it," she added.
Yesterday, Edelsten hit back at Brynne's open letter in New Idea this week where she accused Grecko and the disgraced doctor of being "obsessed" with her.
"It's unfortunate but Brynne is obsessed with making money. That was a fanciful story that was untrue and certainly Gabi and I are not obsessed with Brynne in any way," he told a Sydney radio station.
"All of her efforts with media, TV show, trying to advance, that really was the case but, of course, she got whatever she wanted when she was married to me and she spent it very readily."
