Evans to wed model

It's a race as to which My Kitchen Rules judge will make it down the aisle first after TV personality *Pete Evans *announced his engagement yesterday.

Just weeks after co-star *Manu Feildel *was forced to deny he had secretly wed his fiancee, *WA * jewellery designer *Clarissa Weerasena *, Evans confirmed to New Idea he was planning to marry *Nicola Robinson *.

They became engaged on a trip to New York earlier this year where they mutually decided to take their relationship to the next step after dating for three years.

Evans said proposing to the Kiwi model felt like "the right thing to do at the right time".

"We'd never really thought about marriage - it wasn't top of our agenda - but we love each other and are committed to each other and our family, so we thought let's be traditional and make it official," he said.

Robinson is also excited about becoming a stepmother to Evans' daughters from another relationship *Chilli *, 9, and *Indii *, 7, and also hopes to add to their brood.

"We would definitely be blessed with more children in our lives one day," the 37-year-old said.

"If it happens, wonderful. If not, I'm very lucky to be sharing Chilli and Indii's lives."

The couple plan to marry early next year after the launch of their new online health and fitness program.
