Emeco CFO Gobby resigns

Greg Hawkins will replace Stephen Gobby as chief financial officer of heavy earthmoving equipment company Emeco.

The personnel change follows Mr Gobby's resignation effective from July 1.

Emeco managing director Ken Lewsey said he was sorry when Mr Gobby told him he was resigning to take a sabbatical before pursuing his next career move.

However he said he understand his decision and wished him all the best for his future endeavours after six years of service.

Mr Hawkins is a former London-based president and chief executive of African Barrick Gold.

Mr Gobby and Mr Hawkins will work together for a two-month transition period.

Prior to that, he was chief financial officer of Barrick Gold's Australia Pacific division, based in Perth.

Emeco shares were off half a cent to 26 cents at 1.20pm.
