Yet another service station hold-up

Police are searching for a knife-wielding thug who held up a service station in Redcliffe last night.

The man was brandishing a large kitchen knife when he entered the BP near the Redcliffe Tavern on Great Eastern Highway about 9.40pm.

He demanded cash from the attendant, who complied.

He was seen leaving the area on foot in a westerly direction.

Police described the man as in his 30s with fair skin, a solid build and a chubby face.

He was wearing a grey hooded jumper with a symbol over his left breast.

Earlier yesterday, two people were arrested after allegedly committing an armed robbery at a pharmacy in South Bunbury.

Police will allege a 39-year-old man was carrying a syringe filled with a red liquid when he entered the pharmacy on Spencer Street about 2.15pm.

A police spokesman said the man exited the store with an amount of cash and left the area in a car with a 36-year-old woman.

They were stopped by police and arrested a short time later.

The man and his alleged accomplice have been charged with armed robbery.

Anyone with information about either incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
